Your customer’s account, next to their message
Host one signed HTTPS endpoint and Hobson asks your app about the customer in each conversation: plan, status, revenue, flags. Your team sees it beside the thread and Hobson uses it when drafting. Add custom actions, such as extending a trial, and Hobson proposes them with the reply for a person to approve.
What Hobson does with Your app
- Account lookup
- Plan, status, sign-up date, last seen, flags and your own fields, shown in the sidebar and given to the drafter.
- Signed requests
- Every request carries an HMAC-SHA256 signature and timestamp. Rotating the secret keeps the old one valid for 24 hours.
- Verified customers only
- Hobson only looks up customers who have proved who they are, and never for conversations flagged as manipulation attempts.
- Custom actions
- Up to 10 actions on your own endpoints. Hobson proposes them with a reply and they run only when someone with the right role approves.
- Signed chat identity
- Pass a signed token from your app to the chat widget and logged-in users are recognised, so lookups work in chat too.
Set it up
An afternoon for a developer. The docs include the request, the signature check and every response field.
- 01
Open Settings › Integrations › Account lookup
Only owners and admins can see it.
- 02
Enter your endpoint URL
It must be a public https:// address.
- 03
Copy the signing secret
It starts with hsk_ and is shown once. Check every request’s signature with it.
- 04
Send a test
Choose Send test with an email address and see exactly what your endpoint returned.
- 05
Add custom actions (optional)
On the same page, add actions as paths on the same host. They use the same secret.
